Our friends celebrate our engagement with us!

Raj and I love an excuse to throw a party! What better opportunity than celebrating our engagement with all of our friends.Party details:

I knew that I wanted everything to be full of flowers because I absolutely love them! Real or artificial I think they are just so enchanting. So we took advantage of this, we wrapped white and pink roses around the banisters, had white roses in vases everywhere, a rose flower cake and of course a flower wall and flower swing. We hired a bar / restaurant called Volare which is brand new and literally below our home in North London. It had the perfect layout as it has a beautiful mezzanine area. We also knew that they would supply delicious food and they really did go above and beyond with gigantic cake they made us!Our beautiful pink and white flower wall was as expected, a huge hit! These are perfect for any event, whether its a wedding, private party or even to be hired for something like a photoshoot. You can imagine that most of the girls were infront of this but the boys loved a good photo too! We hired this from Wonderwalls and their service was fantastic from the moment we began talking. They’re based in London and they travel. They do everything from deliver, install and collect, all at times that suit you and your event. I can’t recommend them enough! We were torn between choosing a pink or cream flower wall but we agreed pink matched our theme better and we’ll save the cream for our wedding day. Their flower walls really are breathtaking and they made our experience so simple!

Raj and I made loads of things for the party and this was one of the items (I will be writing a post on our DIY party favourites that we made together). Everyone loved it and it looked beautiful inside the venue, perfect for a garden party too! I love the white French style shabby chic look and for it to be covered in flowers made it even more charming.

What other cute engagement ideas did our party have? We made vintage birdcages covered in flowers for display, we had candy floss prosecco, celebration bubble blowing bottles, a fairy light string of pictures of us together from day 1, sparkly cupcakes shapes into a giant engagement ring, giant flower letters R&M (Which we made), Krispy Kremes, a ridiculous amount of balloons, hanging flower pom poms and loads of sweets along with plenty of Pimms and Prosecco!

We wanted everyone to relax, and get involved with another so of course we brought out our favourite party trick – our beer pong table! Always a big hit at parties and its such a great way to get everyone involved and most importantly have fun!

Our DJ was fabulous and knew exactly what we wanted. His music was really fresh and after we sent over a few songs of what we like, Leo instantly had a real flavour for everything that we wanted.

Our photographer, Giulia was absolutely lovely. She was very creative and approachable. She snapped away the whole night and made it very clear that we grab her at any point if we want more photos to be taken. Giulia has a real eye for detail and her editing skills are wonderful. A real perk is that she was extremely quick to get the photographs back to us (waiting around is the worst thing!). Giulia covers all kinds of photography from private events and parties, weddings, models, portraits etc. She’s always looking to build her portfolio.

Make up details:

My beautiful make up was achieved by my good friend Tasneem. Tasneem has worked for a variety of make up and skincare brands including YSL, Dior, Liz Earle and now she is the manager of Chanel. I love it when she does my make up because Tasneem knows whats trendy, she understands what suits peoples skin tones and face shapes and what doesn’t. She’s very honest and encourages constructive criticism.

Tasneem always offers trials first to get a full understanding of what you like and she encourages loads of photos and inspiration to get the perfect idea of what you desire. You can see on my Instagram pictures of our trial make up. She was able to make my skin look absolutely flawless and radiant. Her make up skills don’t just stop there. Tasneem also offers asian make up looks, so a real variety. Bride to be, party make up, photoshoots etc. she can do it all! We initially trialled lots of rose gold, pinky colours to suit my party theme but in the end we agreed I felt more comfortable in the browny, natural, gold and nude colours. I am a huge fan of the Kim K make up looks.

There also isn’t an awkward moment in sight with Tasneem around. She’s bubbly, friendly and always has plenty to talk about to make you feel completely at ease on your big day!

Outfit details:

Of course, I wanted to be extra sparkly and glam for this event. So I went for big hair, big make up and lots of sparkly details. my stunning white dress was covered in sequins and it had a nude colour underlay. It has a flattering sweetheart neckline with an appropriate midi length and its figure hugging. It clings to all the right places and it is definitely perfect for any party!

I went for diamanté accessories with my earrings and choker. These matched my stunning shoes perfectly. Covered in diamonds these shoes really make a statement to any room that you walk in.
